Dr. Gerald Siegmund

Dr. Gerald Siegmund's scientific work is based within the development of contemporary dance and the post dramatic theatre. Gerald Siegmund is writing on dance and performance as theoretician an critic, both activities complementing each other. After finishing his PhD on Theatre as memory in 1994, he started writing on a daily basis as dance and performance critic for the newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung in 1995, and magazines such as Ballet International and Dance Europe. Gerald Siegmund has recently published William Forsythe: Denken in Bewegung. His book on absence: Towards a critical performative aesthetic will be published in 2005.
