Conversations about Performing Arts - Kirk Baltz

Once again, we bring back our highly successful series ”Conversations about Performing Arts” in which leading and influential artists share their expert perspectives on the role and opportunities of contemporary theatre and performing arts.
This time we are proud to present the American actor and master coach Kirk Baltz in conversation with Danish actor and writer Peter Pilegaard.
Over the past 25 years, Kirk Baltz has appeared in a wide range of plays, television shows and movies, working with acclaimed directors such as Quentin Tarantino, Oliver Stone and Warren Beatty. In his international master classes, Kirk Baltz has helped numerous actors, writers and directors to build strong acting techniques.
In collaboration with Betty Nansen Teater, we offer this open-to-all opportunity to meet Kirk Baltz in connection with his limited-access Actor’s Master Class at The Danish National School of Performing Arts’ department of Continuing Education
Entrance is free but registration is necessary.



From the start of his career, Kirk Baltz has studied extensively in NYC and LA with such noted teachers as Susan Batson, Tony Greco, Sandra Seacat, Greg Zittle, and Penny Allen. Kirk has appeared in over 100 film and television productions including: BulworthNatural Born KillersReservoir Dogs (pictured above), Dances With Wolves and Taylor Hackford’s latest film Parker. Kirk has been featured in such television shows as: The ShieldNYPD Blue, Without a TraceWill & Grace24 and NCIS:Los Angeles.




Actor and writer Peter Pilegaard (44) is a graduate from The Danish National School of Performing Arts (Odense). He has been acting on stage at theatres around Denmark for the past 16 years and has been a part of Shakespeare´s Globe Theatre in London twice. In 2004, he was granted an Artistic Residency working with former Artistic Director of The Globe, Mark Rylance, and in 2012, he was invited to The Globe to perform in Sonnet Sunday. As a writer, he will soon be publishing a biography on Danish tennis-legend Michael Mortensen, and he also writes sports journalism for Politiken.
